We are happy to announce you that new video series "Gallerist talks about the artist" is open today. First, we interviewed Mr. Nanzuka who is the gallerist of Nanzuka Underground to ask him about Keiichi Tanaami, Soji Yamakawa and Kosuke Tsumura.

Why video?
Azito is not an online gallery just aiming to sell the works but to spread the thoughts and ideas which artists have. We put descriptions of the artworks and artist profile on our website but thought that it might be more powerful to put an interview of the gallerist. Moreover, we want people to experience that as if there are talking with the gallerist and know about the story or idea of the artwork. You can see how the gallerists are addicted to the artist and their energy toward them.


Why not interviewing the artist but gallerist?
We know it is usual to ask questions to the artist about the artworks. That is fine and we enjoy them too. But gallerist is the person who deeply understands the artist. We ask about the artist's personality and this question is difficult to answer for the artist him/herself.

What is in the video?
We basically asked about the following questions.

-How did it come to create the artwork which is sold on Azito.
-How the artist is in person.
-What the artist is thinking to create an artwork
